In home newborn sessions are such a nice change from studio sessions once in a while. Studio sessions are definitely a bit easier on me, but there’s just something about getting to photograph a new family in their own home, including elements from their home (nursery, pets, special sentimental items, etc).  And I especially love getting to go into a new family’s home when it gives us the chance to head outside for some family photos with their brand new baby!  We planned this session so that we would do the family portion right around sunset, so we could head outside for that beautiful light since it was a nice warm day!

These are just a few of my favorites from her session, and I have to say, photographing a newborn with a dog (or any pet!) is never a guarantee, but this family dog was the most obedient, best dog I have ever photographed!!  And, even better, she fell asleep right alongside baby as I was taking pictures!  I could hardly believe it!

I couldn’t  believe how lucky I got with the beautiful flowers and colors and light just footsteps from their front door.  Perfect for their little springtime newborn.  The bay area is a pretty awesome place to live 😉
